Chinese Export Silver Jug profusely decorated with applied bamboo and moths on a plain background. It has a hinged lid, round collet foot, and the handle and finial are formed as sections of branch.
Marked with WH, for Wang Hing '宏兴‘ which was the biggest silver retailer in China from the 1860s to the 1940s, and the most well known and influential. The jug also has the mark of the silversmith, 伯 'Bo’, and is circa 1885
