An interesting and decorative cased set of antique fruit spoons, each with a different figural handle.
We've identified three of the four figures as the English Kings Henry VIII, Richard III, and Henry IV, and the fourth figure seems to be John Falstaff. The last three appear to be fashioned as they appear in the plays of William Shakespeare, and the image of Henry VIII, is the traditional one that we all recognise. However if any historians or sleuths out there want to change or question our attribution we will be happy to listen and learn.
The silver-plated set is in its original velvet lined case, was made by Atkin Brothers, and dates from the late nineteenth century.
Each spoon measures approximately 9 inches.
