Chinese Export Silver Mug circa 1850, of double-skin construction and decorated with bamboo leaves and two crickets against a matte background, a simulated bamboo handle, and with a vacant oval cartouche.
The maker's mark is HCH along with pseudo-hallmarks, which were often used in Canton on silver supplied to Westerners. HCH was located in Canton and the firm was in business from the 1850s to the 1870s.
