A rare Chinese Export Silver Goblet depicting the story of the Three Kingdoms. The goblet embossed and chased with characters of army of General Dian Wei (典韦) and General Lü Bu (吕布). The family name of Dian and Lü are on the flags.
It has a vacant shield-shape cartouche and the stem is formed as a dragon soaring into the clouds and riding on the mist.
The goblet was retailed by Kwong Yuen of Canton and made by 仪昌 (Yi Chang). It is a lovely goblet and an excellent example of the storytelling that can be found on Chinese Export Silver.
