Chinese Export Silver Bowl, circa 1890, round and sitting on a plain collet foot. The bowl is applied with bamboo and prunus emerging from rocks, and also two birds in flight. The bowl is marked WH for the retailer Wang Hing; a 90 which is sometimes used as an indication of the purity of the silver; and a Chinese character mark of ‘巧珍’ showing the name of the Canton maker ‘Qiao Zhen’.
