Chinese Export Silver Case embossed and chased with a dragon playing with a fireball on one side, and decorated on the other side with a poem — “亲向罗浮伴月痕,至怜花尽冷霜根” (Qin Xiang Luo Fu Ban Yue Hen, Zhi Lian Hua Jin Leng Shuang Gen) — accompanied by two birds, prunus blossoms, and branches, with a single vacant shield-shaped cartouche.
The poem translates as:
"I walked alone to Luofu Mountain beneath the moon’s trace, sorrowing for flowers all gone, their roots chilled by frost."
This poem expresses the character’s loneliness at night and his sadness over lost love and the passing of beauty.
