Pair of Chinese Export Silver Comports

Pair of Chinese Export Silver Comports each with a dragon stem, and the panels around the top gallery decorated with a village scene, prunus, dragons and bamboo. The dish, stand and base are held together by a single rod secured underneath the base. Marked with WH for Wang Hing '宏兴‘ which was the biggest retailer in China from the 1860s to the 1940s, and the most well known and influential, with shops in Canton, Shanghai, and then Hong Kong. The firm worked with over a hundred silversmiths, and these comports were made by 宝生 (BaoSheng).
