A Pair of Chinese Export Silver Bowls on original wood stands, circa 1880. Both bowls composed of six lotus-shaped panels, sit on a stand with openwork cloud carving. Each panel is embossed and chased, four with plum blossom, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum, which are the Four Gentlemen in Chinese art; one panel with two figures beneath a vacant shield-shape cartouche; and a single dragon on the sixth panel.
The retailer mark is WA, which was a firm located in Canton, and the maker's mark is '甯兆記' (Ning Zhao Ji).
