A large Chinese Export Silver Bowl, with pierced gallery border and extensive decoration of flowers and butterflies. There are also two large vacant cartouches. The bowl was retailed by the renowned and influential firm of Wang Hing '宏兴‘ around 1885. As the largest firm in China supplying silver to Westerners, Wang Hing worked with many silversmith's, and this bowl was made by '大吉‘ Da Ji.
