A Chinese Export Silver Tray, circa 1890, beautifully and intricately engraved to the surface with birds among bamboo shoots. The border is similarly decorated with chased birds among bamboo. Marked with WH for Wang Hing '宏兴‘ which was the biggest retailer in China between the 1860s and 1940s, and the most well known and influential. With shops in Canton, Shanghai, and then Hong Kong, Wang Hing worked with over a hundred different silversmiths, and this tray was made by '求记' (QiuJi). A true Work of Art.
