A Chinese Silver Bowl decorated with chrysanthemum against a matte background.
Marked with HC, for Hung Chong, '鸿昌', whose shop was in Shanghai between around 1870-1949. Hung Chong had an earlier shop in Canton in the 1850's and was one of the first Cantonese silver retailers to set up in Shanghai, and the longest to stay in business there. Many silversmiths worked for the firm and this bowl was made by '联祥盛‘ (LianXiangSheng) circa 1895
