A Chinese Export Silver Biscuit Box, round with a collet foot and profusely decorated with applied prunus. against a smooth plain background. The box has a pull-off lid with a twig finial, and a plain swing handle.
Whilst originally made to hold biscuits, it could also be used as a container for ice. The box was retailed by the firm of Wang Hing around 1890, and the silversmith's mark is '泰昌隆' (Tai Chang Long).
